When surveyed in September 2020, some ** percent of Gen Z respondents in the United States stated that they got a new pet due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This figure rose to ** percent during a November 2021 survey. This is a significant amount compared to other generational groups. In November 2021, just **** percent of Baby Boomers reported getting a new pet.
