The source adds the following information: " The online sales made in France were studied during the weeks from March 2 to 8 (reference week) and subsequent weeks. The variations were calculated by taking the index of 1.0 the week of March 2-8 and comparing it to sales made the week before. Unless otherwise stated, the indices are based on the turnover of the various online players (except food, in number of orders), based on the panel of 500,000 digital consumers in Europe.

Citation formats

After the outbreak of the coronavirus in France in March 2020, the source had looked at the evolution of the market share of home delivery activities. During the first week of March, Amazon's share of deliveries made 18 percent of the total cut and stayed in the lead even if it lost three points. During the week between the 16th and 22nd of March, Carrefour performed second best with 16 percent and fell by about two percent on the 29th of March. During the first week of April, Auchan and Monoprix's home deliveries were at 10 and 14 percent, respectively. The following week, Amazon attained its best with 29 percent of the market share on home delivery. On the 26th of April 2020, Auchan had kept on the 10 percent share level and Amazon Prime Now stayed stable as well.
