Citation formats

During March of 2020, sales of bread and pastries skyrocketed from levels comparable to January during the first week of March to 14.41 times the average sales in January on March 28. Since the high of March 28, sales have slowly declined. However, as of April 26 sales of bread and pastries are still around five times higher than sales in January.
Bread and Pastries was the category that was affected the strongest during the coronavirus induced stockpiling in the United Kingdom. The continuously high sales at the end of April suggest a possible shift into a new normal till the UK lockdown measures are relaxed.
