According to the results of a survey conducted in 2021, a majority of Indian respondents considered regular exercising and eating healthy food as the top protective measure against contracting the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Other than this, over 65 percent of the respondents followed WHO recommended preventive measures such as washing hands frequently and wearing masks. Almost half of the respondents also used home-made immunity boosters and remedies. As of October 18, 2021, India had about 34 million confirmed cases of COVID-19.
