* The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) aggregates data from a number of different sources that provide perceptions by businesspeople and country experts of the level of corruption in the public sector. The lower the score, the more corrupted the country.

Corruption perception index in the CEE region 2020-2024
Among the countries of the CEE region, Estonia achieved the best score, with ** points in 2024, while Russia's transparency index reached only ** points out of 100 possible.
The index itself is a composite indicator that includes data on the perception of corruption in areas such as public officials' bribery, public procurement kickbacks, state funds embezzlement, and the effectiveness of the government's anti-corruption efforts. The highest possible score in the perception of corruption is 0, whereas a score of 100 indicates that no corruption is perceived in the respective country.
