The level of satisfaction among the French with gender equality has declined significantly in recent years, particularly within the family environment (a **** percent drop since 2019). The French's low level of satisfaction with equality in the professional sphere is however increasing: in 2021, ** percent of French people found the professional environment to be equal, compared with ** percent in 2021.
Overall, French people's awareness of gender equality issues has increased in recent years, and the periods of containment resulting from the COVID-19 crisis are believed to have contributed to this awareness.
