* Five volunteers stood 50 meters away from metal detectors at the protest, asking every seventh person to take part in the survey. Out of 399 approached people, 306 agreed. The margin of error was 5.6 percent.
The survey was organized by political scientist Alexey Zakharov and social anthropoligist Alexandra Arkhipova for Vedomosti.

Slightly over half of the survey participants perceived themselves as representing the population of Russia when asked at the protest for fair local elections in Moscow on August 10, 2019. The respondents who thought there were not many people in the country like them accounted for 36 percent of the protesters.
