Russia: opinion on CSTO participation in Kazakhstan 2022
Approximately two thirds of Russians positively viewed the participation of their national troops in the first mission of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Kazakhstan in 2022. In January of that year, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for assistance from the CSTO during an unrest. CSTO members include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Among them, Russia spending the most on the military.
