According to the latest estimates by UNESCO, there were nearly 104,000 such organizations globally, with the regions of North America and Western Europe reporting the highest number of museums worldwide. Meanwhile, the United States was the country with the highest number of museums worldwide, accounting for nearly a third of all institutions.
