This statistic shows the mean pay gap between women and men in the largest banks in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2018 and 2018. In 2017, HSBC bank plc reported a pay gap of ** percent between men and women. This meant that when comparing mean hourly rates, women at HSBC earned ** pence for every one British pound that was earned by a man. The gender pay gap for HSBC increased to ** percent in the following year, but fell for the other three banks.
