Matas is one of the largest health and beauty retailers in Denmark. The chain of drug stores also sells personal hygiene products and other home goods. On 31 August 2023, Matas completed the acquisition of KICKS, a leading beauty retailer based in Sweden.

The Danish cosmetics and personal care retailer Matas operates stores in Denmark and Sweden as well as an own online shop. Overall, the chain of drug stores’ revenue increased in the financial period from 2012/13 to 2025/26. In this financial year, Matas generated a revenue of about **** billion Danish kroner. As of 2025, it was ranked third among all companies in the cosmetics, perfume and hairdressing industry in Denmark. Measured by its revenue, L’Oreal Denmark ranked second, while Normal took the leading position. Financial years start on April 1 and end on March 31.
 Matas’ online shop 
The health and beauty retailer’s online shop was among the leading web shops in Denmark in 2024, based on sales. As a matter of fact, matas.dk generated approximately million U.S. dollars in e-commerce net sales that year.Â
Matas in Sweden 
In August 2023, Matas aquired Kicks Kosmetikkedjan, which was amongst some of the leading personal care retailers in Sweden based on revenues. In 2025, the company ranked second, having a revenue of over **** billion Swedish kroner. By comparison, H&M ranked first with a revenue of approximately billion Swedish kroner. H&M Hennes & Mauritz Sverige AS sells not only clothing, but also beauty products and make-up.
