European gas consumption declined to ** exajoules in 2015 but increased to ** exajoules by 2018. Between 2025 and 2050, figures are forecasted to decline in all scenarios. In 2050, gas consumption in Europe is expected to reach five exajoules in the net zero scenario and ** exajoules in the business-as-usual scenario.
