The increase in the poverty rate in Western countries has been a rampant issue since 2000. Since that year, France has seen its poverty rate slowly but steadily growing. One of the main aspects of poverty in France was its impact on the youngest and the oldest generations. Thus, one out of five French people aged younger than 18 years was living below the poverty line in 2023.
