Immigrants are defined as people born abroad who currently reside in Denmark and whose parents are not Danish citizens and are not born in Denmark. If there is no information about one of the parents and the person was born abroad, the person is perceived as an immigrant.
Descendants are defined as persons who were born in Denmark to parents who cannot be both born in Denmark and have Danish citizenship at the same time. If at least one of the parents who is born in Denmark obtains a Danish citizenship their children won't be classified as descendants. If parents who are born in Denmark keep a foreign citizenship, their children will be classified as descendants.
