As of 2022, it was estimated that around four percent of seniors in the United States aged 65 years and older had been told by a doctor or other health professional that they had dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. The prevalence of dementia is higher among those with lower levels of education. Around eight percent of those with less than a high school education or GED estimated to have been diagnosed as of 2022, compared to two percent of those with a college degree or higher.聽
