In 2017, retail e-commerce sales are expected to reach billion US dollars and by 2018 they are forecasted to reach billion U.S. dollars. When taking a look at a forecast of business to client (B2C) e-commerce sales in Russia, the expected value of B2C e-commerce sales in 2018 amounts to approximately billion U.S. dollars and to billion U.S. dollars in 2021. The leading online commerce segments by turnover in 2014 in Russia were household appliances and electronics, followed by clothing, footwear and computer, notebooks and computer parts. E-commerce retail sales are expected to increase in the years to come and in other countries such as China they made up as much as ** percent of total retail sales in 2016 or ** percent in the United Kingdom.
