Organic farming

What constitutes food as “organic” is a subject of contention. Different organizations and certifiers have differing criteria on what counts as organic, but perhaps the broadest definition of organic food is food that has been grown without artificial fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals, or GMOs. The area of land used for organic farming has increased substantially over the last several years, amounting to over **** million hectares worldwide in 2024, nearly doubling since 2015.
