According to a 2024 survey carried out in the United States, counseling or therapy was seen as a more effective treatment for mental health conditions than medication. Over 50 percent of respondents felt that counseling or therapy was very effective or effective as a mental health treatment compared to 35 percent who thought the same about prescription medicine.
