According to a survey conducted in France in 2018, almost half of the women reported always having to engage in activities with the children upon returning home in the evening, such as preparing dinner or helping with homework. Only ** percent of men said the same. Preparing for the next day and performing household chores, such as cleaning or laundry, were also mainly the responsibility of women. Finally, ** percent of women felt they always had to adhere to a schedule to go see their child(ren), compared to only ** percent of men. Thus, almost ** percent of women felt they always had one of these obligations at the end of the day, compared to less than ** percent of men.
Also in 2018, ** percent of mothers believed that it was mostly them who took care of the children. Only * percent of fathers said the same about themselves.
