This chart shows the carbon equivalent emissions related to the war in Ukraine between 2022 and 2023, by category, in millions of tons of CO2. The post-war reconstruction of residential buildings and other infrastructure alone accounts for about half of the total carbon footprint of the war in carbon equivalent. In total, the carbon footprint of one year of war in Ukraine amounts to more than 97 million tons of CO2, which is half of Ukraine's usual annual carbon footprint.
