This statistic represents the number of Ukrainian refugees benefiting from temporary protection status by country in Europe following the Russian invasion between December 2024 and February 2025. The majority of Ukrainian refugees went to neighboring countries. The numerous battles taking place in the Donbass and Luhansk regions, two areas with a large Russian-speaking minority, caused a massive exodus toward neighboring Russia. However, most Ukrainians sought refuge to the west, notably in Germany, which hosted more than 1.1 million. In February 2025, France had welcomed nearly 55,000 Ukrainian refugees benefiting from temporary protection status.
