This statistic shows the share of French people with a favorable opinion of President Emmanuel Macron and his successive prime ministers Edouard Philippe, Jean Castex, Elisabeth Borne, Gabriel Attal, Michel Barnier, and François Bayrou between May 2017 and January 2025. The popularity of the president dropped in 2018 but rose during the Covid pandemic, before falling again to reach only 21 percent in January 2025. While Jean Castex and Elisabeth Borne had approval ratings lower than the president's, Edouard Philippe, Gabriel Attal, and Michel Barnier achieved higher approval ratings, reaching a record 46 percent for Edouard Philippe in May 2020. François Bayrou, for his part, is the least popular prime minister during the studied period.
