According to the Ministry of National Education, lifelong learning is a gateway allowing individuals who wish to acquire new knowledge or skills. In its 2018 report on training and employment, INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) presents data on the proportion of French people who participated in professional training during the past twelve months, according to their level of education. It is observed that the participation rate in professional training systematically increased with the level of education: ** percent of French people with no diploma had undergone training that year, compared to ** percent of those with a long higher education degree.
