Although in the university environment, the number of students with online classes increased significantly in Mexico from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the percentage of students enrolled in 100 percent online programs had already reached ** percent between April and May 2020. According to a survey conducted among Mexican university students enrolled in these programs during the same period, their main reason for choosing to study online was the flexibility of schedules. Other decisive factors for the majority of respondents were the lack of need to commute and the lower fees.
