To access the data at the source, it is necessary to check the "quarterly" box located under "e-commerce" and then click "view statistics." The referenced data can be found in the Excel document "transactions by geographic areas," specifically in the "within Spain" tab.
The data were collected by the CNMC mainly from bank card payments made by individuals on the Internet.
The source only takes into account purchase transactions made with payment methods from clients of the signatories of the agreement (Spain) on e-commerce websites that use a virtual point of sale terminal from payment method signatories of the agreement, namely Sermepa-Servired, Sistema 4B, and the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks (CECA-Sistema Euro 6000).

Quarterly e-commerce transactions within Spain 2014-2024
During almost the entire study period, an upward trend is observed, culminating in nearly ** million transactions in the last quarter of 2019. However, in the following six months, a continuous decline was experienced. Thus, in the period between April and June, the number of e-commerce transactions within Spain was around **** million, that is, more than ** million below the amount recorded at the end of 2019. In the third quarter of 2020, the trend changed again, and by the second quarter of 2024, nearly million transactions were reached.
