This chart shows the opinion of the French on immigration by type in 2023. More than half of the French wanted to make immigration more difficult regarding political asylum, immigration of foreign workers, and family reunification. Only 22 percent of the French wanted to make immigration easier for these three categories. Regarding the immigration of foreign students, public opinion was more favorable, with 29 percent of respondents wanting to facilitate student immigration.
