This chart shows the share of removal orders (OQT) issued that were actually enforced by European Union (EU) countries between 2015 and 2021. Portugal was the EU country enforcing the fewest removal orders issued against individuals who should, in principle, be required to return to the country of their nationality. France was also near the bottom of the ranking, with only 12 percent of issued removal orders actually carried out. Malta, Latvia, and Romania, on the other hand, enforced more than 80 percent of the removal orders issued.
