Professional activity status of French people who attempted suicide 2015-2017
Job loss or unemployment are factors that can lead to a higher risk of suicide. Data indicate that unemployed individuals and those classified as "other inactive," which includes, for example, non-retired people not reporting that they are seeking employment, have three and six times higher risk, respectively, of attempting suicide compared to employed individuals (** attempts per 10,000 inactive people and ** attempts per 10,000 unemployed people, versus * attempts per 10,000 employed people).
