Cryptocurrency as an investment was a more common use case of the digital asset for consumers in the U.S. than as a payment method. This is according to a consumer survey held in the country. The share of consumers who used crypto for either investments or payments declined since 2024. Other research confirms that crypto adoption in the U.S. mainly comes from a heavy interaction with centralized exchanges - and less from P2P transactions between consumers.
