Ciberlunes is an online shopping event taking place in Uruguay twice a year (usually in May/June and October/November). Its goal is to promote e-commerce in the South American country. Multiple product categories brands participate in the event, organized by the Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU).Â

During the two editions of Ciberlunes in Uruguay, shoppers in the South American country bought products mostly for themselves. During the June 2024 online shopping event, 70 percent of shoppers bought for personal use, while in the November edition this number ascended to 87 percent. More than 40 percent acquired products for other household members during both mega sale dates.
