As of June 2024, 98 percent of countries in Europe or 44 out of 45 countries, had laws covering electronic transactions, as well as data privacy protection. Furthermore, 35 countries, or 78 percent of the region, had consumer protection laws, while 91 percent had cybercrime laws.
