When looking at video game monetization models, both indie and traditional video game buyers expressed a strong preference for full paid games. A 2023 survey found that ** percent of regular indie game buyers, ** percent of light indie game buyers, and ** percent of traditional game buyers claimed this models as one of their top three preferred ways of gaming monetization. Free-to-play (F2P) gaming with cosmetic-only monetization was ranked second overall.
