Participants were asked to indicate how they would prefer to use payment methods in various scenarios—such as payment recipients, as payers, in different payment situations, for specific payment amounts, and so on. Respondents are a representative sample of the population aged 18-74 who are connected to the internet.
'Ultra-Orthodox' refers to a conservative and highly observant stream of Judaism. Ultra-orthodox Jews are also known as Haredi or Haredim.
'Payment app' refers to a mobile application that facilitates financial transactions as an intermediary, with some apps offering wallet-like features to store money temporarily.

As of July 2022, only over 36 percent of Ultra-Orthodox individuals and almost 50 percent of Arabs in Israel were familiar and used a mobile payment app in the past year. In comparison, over 80 percent of the rest of the population reported using payment apps.
