By 2050, the hydrogen demand from the industrial sector was projected to total more than *** million metric tons, accounting for more than ** percent of the total hydrogen demand in the Asia-Pacific region. The demand for hydrogen in buildings was forecasted to remain low at around * metric tons by 2030 and *** metric tons by 2050. This is due to inadequate efficiency of heating buildings via hydrogen instead of gas and the strict safety requirements in transportation and distribution of hydrogen.
