The refining sector accounts for the greatest hydrogen demand of any industry worldwide. In 2023, this sector had a hydrogen demand of around **** million metric tons. To align with the IEA's Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario, global hydrogen demand would need to increase to more than *** million metric tons by 2030. Most of this growth is expected to come from sectors where hydrogen adoption remains limited today, including transport and power generation.
