Physicians were selected at random from internet-based physician office listings such as the online Yellow Pages or Healthgrades, or through search engines such as Google. In each call, research associates asked to be told the first available time for a new patient appointment. If asked, and depending on the specialty at issue, they indicated a hypothetical reason for the appointment, as follows: Obstetrics/Gynecology: A 鈥渨ell-woman鈥 gynecological exam
