As of February 2025, there were roughly 9.7 gigawatts of wind power under construction in Europe. Northern European countries accounted for the largest share of this capacity, with some 6.5 gigawatts. Europe had also almost 300 gigawatts of offshore wind in the pre-construction stage, and over 180 additional gigawatts had been announced.
