At the end of 2024, Italians were very confident in police forces, with 65 percent of the respondents sharing a positive trust for the Police, Carabinieri, and Financial Police. Similarly, citizens showed a very high esteem for Pope Francis and the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, both appreciated by around 60 percent of interviewees. Nevertheless, the same degree of trust was not declared for the institutions they lead, as the Catholic Church was approved by only one-third percent and the Italian State by 28 of the respondents. Almost half of Italians considered the school system valuable. The lowest approval was recorded for political parties, as only 12 percent of Italians shared a positive trust.
