In 2024, Azerbaijan's military spending was approximately 2.7 times the expenditure of Armenia, measured at almost 3.8 billion current U.S. dollars. That represented five percent of Azerbaijan's gross domestic product (GDP). Between 2023 and 2024, Azerbaijan increased its defense spending by six percent. Over the observed period, both countries' expenditure on their military peaked in 2024.
