The Traverse Wind Project, located in Oklahoma, was the largest onshore wind power plant operating in the U.S. as of June 2023. The onshore wind park has a capacity of almost one gigawatt. Other major onshore wind energy plants in the country, like Buffalo Gap in Texas and Alta Wind Project in California, have a generation capacity of over 900.
