Under a current line-of-sight scenario, cumulative greenhouse gas emissions in India are estimated to reach *** billion metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (GtCOâ‚‚e) in 2070. However, an accelerated decarbonization pathway would lead to the abatement of more than ** GtCOâ‚‚e by that same year. Some of these measures include the accelerated adoption of renewable energies – which would result in cutting ** GtCOâ‚‚e of emissions between 2020 and 2070 – or scaling-up green hydrogen technologies – leading to an additional reduction of *** ³Ò³Ù°ä°¿â‚‚e.
