Approximately one third of Russians believed that in view of the war in Ukraine, installments of Christmas trees in cities and localities should be held more modest than in previous years, according to a survey conducted in November 2022. In general, the majority of respondents stated that New Year's festivities should be held nationwide in 2022. However, more than one half of Russians held the opinion that New Year's fireworks should not be held in that year.
