This data does not correspond to the total number of buildings in England and Wales, but just to those with an Energy Performance Certificates issued in the past year.
In the decade leading up to the 1st quarter of 2024, most energy performance certificates (EPC) for non-residential buildings in England and Wales had a rating of C or D. In England, there were over ** buildings registered with a C rating. These figures do not show, however, the overall number of commercial buildings in England and Wales, but the number of buildings with a valid EPC in those territories.
