In 2024, the Chinese Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved *** New Drug Applications (NDA) for chemical drugs. More than ** percent of all chemical drugs approved were antineoplastic drugs. Anti-infectives and drugs treating nervous system diseases were also approved in considerable numbers. A New Drug Application (NDA) is the mechanism through which pharmaceutical manufacturers propose that the regulatory body approve a new drug or biopharmaceutical for general use and sale.
