According to a survey conducted in South Korea from late 2020 to early 2021, around **** percent of doctors who were raised in the Gyeongbuk province of South Korea stated that they now practiced medicine elsewhere. In contrast, around ** percent of doctors raised in the city of Gwangju stayed to practice there. Apart from Gwangju, only Seoul, Busan, Daegu, and the province of Jeonbuk retained a majority of the doctors who grew up there.
