A survey conducted in 2021 showed that nearly two-thirds (** percent) of respondents in Paraguay believed that the rich always buy the elections in their country. On the end of the spectrum, ** percent of Uruguayans respondents claimed that wealthy people never buy the elections. Uruguay was also the country with the highest level of trust in the elections in all the Latin American and Caribbean countries surveyed.
