Carbon intensity reduction targets for shipping in the European Union 2025-2050
As part of the Fit for 55 package, FuelEU Maritime regulations will help reduce the greenhouse gas intensity of fuels used by the ships calling at European ports over the coming decades. By 2025, the average carbon intensity of the shipping sector will need to reduce by *** percent, compared to the 2020 average, rising to ** percent by 2050.
