A March 2022 online survey conducted in the United States found that 54 percent of white adults agreed that the internet should be a free speech zone, in which speech should be uncensored. Overall, 29 percent of Black adults reported agreeing with this statement, whilst 34 percent disagreed. Moreover, 45 percent of Hispanic respondents thought that speech on the internet should be completely unrestricted.
