According to a 2021 survey conducted among internet users in Canada, ** percent of respondents agreed that Facebook, now named Meta Platforms, contributes to misinformation and the sharing of fake news. Additionally, ** percent agreed that the company's platforms can be harmful to children and teenagers who use them and almost half of all respondents agreed that they threaten democracy. A quarter of internet users in Canada felt that Facebook had a positive impact on their quality of life.
