According to a survey conducted in July 2021, around *** percent of female respondents in Japan aged 55 to 59 years who perceived menopausal indications and consulted a gynecologist were diagnosed with menopausal disorders. An overall share of about ** percent of women who attended a gynecologist was not medically diagnosed with menopausal disorders or symptoms despite their perception. The majority of surveyed women, however, never visited a gynecologist for their perceived symptoms.
